Our film about the moosaik project
A first impression of Starnberg is shaped by the old industrial area at the entrance to the town. This area is to be converted into a new, well-developed quarter that meets the high standards defined by the Starnberg Ammersee region: “to be the highest quality living space in the immediate vicinity of a cosmopolitan city”. In addition, the exposed location at the entrance to the town is an opportunity to create a new image of the town with contemporary architecture that matches the character of the region.
The name moosaik, which was developed by our network partner ALL ABOUT Real Estate Brands as part of an integrated brand development process, dovetails perfectly with this concept.
Our holistic concept from idea to communication provides for an urban quarter that connects the needs of the citizens and all those involved. This early involvement of brand professionals is part of our service offering, which goes far beyond architectural planning per se.
For the new moosaik quarter, we are restructuring the existing commercial enterprises and integrating them into an area concept. In addition to many commercial and service facilities, a wide variety of housing forms, subsidised housing and apartments for the disabled and senior citizens are planned. This mix is to be supplemented by a hotel and public facilities.
We presented a compelling urban development design that convinced politicians, the public and investors alike. The design incorporates a star-shaped arrangement of paths and squares for attractive visual axes and the sensible continuation on the adjacent plots. The clear concept allows the best possible arrangement of the various planned building elements.
Flowing and stationary traffic with the entrances and exits is ensured on the lower level. This will create car-free spaces in the above-ground area, allowing a multitude of options for use and meeting areas between the individual buildings.

In every respect, the concept is oriented to the needs of the local population. It provides for a hybrid construction method of concrete and wood as well as the greening of terraces and balconies, gardens and the planting of usable open spaces and a sustainable material and energy concept.
Together with the city, we are also developing a restaurant and local amenities concept that meets the special requirements of the quarter. We have therefore also planned connecting components to the lake by means of a pedestrian and bicycle footbridge over the busy Münchner Straße and into the centre of Starnberg.
