The OEM Mazda knock sensor location uses an M10 Stud but most aftermarket Knock Sensors are closer to M8. Many companies in the past have found it easy to drill out the sensor or machine an M10 stud down to the M8 thickness. This could potentially ruin the sensor or have mediocre results. Use either a 17mm deep socket or a 17mm wrench.
